The 41st annual American Cheese Society (ACS) conference, themed “Cheese for Real,” took place in Buffalo, New York, from July 10-13. The highlight of the conference was the prestigious ACS Judging & Competition Awards, known for their integrity and dedication to recognizing the finest American cheeses.
Point Reyes Farmstead had an impressive showing, earning top honors in multiple categories. Their TomaTruffle won 1st place for American Originals Flavored Cheese, while Bay Blue secured 3rd place in Rinded Blue Mold Cheeses. Additionally, their newest cheeses, Truffle Brie and Fennel Blue, made a strong debut. Truffle Brie earned 2nd place in Soft Ripened Flavored Cheese, and Fennel Blue took 3rd place in Flavored Rinded Blue Mold Cheese.

This year’s competition saw 1,596 cheese and cultured dairy products entered, with judges evaluating products based on flavor, aroma, texture, and appearance. The ACS Judging & Competition underscores the society’s commitment to education and innovation within the cheese industry, preparing new generations of cheesemakers to lead and excel in a continually evolving market.
